Summary Tigers coach Terry Wallace will be praying
for a repeat of the last time these two teams met, in round six,
when goalkicking machine Lance Franklin had a rare misfire and
kicked 1.7. He nevertheless had eight shots at goal. One more this
week and if they're all on target Buddy will reach the magical 100
goal mark. While he was out of sorts, the Hawks still won and
another victory will just about end Richmond's finals ambitions.
Hawthorn are secure in the knowledge they will be a major part of
the September action so will try to refine their game plan. An
accurate Matthew Richardson, in vintage form, will be a serious
problem for the Hawks, but they should win the ball out of the
centre and have too much ammunition up forward for the Tiger
defence
Key Again it will be Franklin and fellow Hawk forward
Jarryd Roughead providing the major hurdles
Tip Hawthorn by 25 points
